Just to add a little humour, here are some of the shots that went wrong whilst filming.







Whilst Sam.P was tuning Sam. L base guitar, the string snapped and we had to stop until we fixed the problem.

Rough cut

Here's the rough cut of my music video, I have yet to film to band shots and for now have put black spaces in video to simulate where the shots will go.

The black white scenes are meant to simulate the good memories the boyfriend has of their relationship whilst the colour shots represent the memories when the relationship is over and when the girlfriend is being off with him.

Magazine Advert

Here is the final piece for my magazine advert for Ashes. I followed the normal conventions of other band ads by having all the band members on the front page. I also added a 'burnt' effect to the edges of the picture to link with the name of the band.

Digipack - Cd design

Here's the final design for my CD, I wanted to keep it to match with the inside of my digipack. I decided to make a second cd design which would contain some bonus tracks such as the acoustic versions of some of their songs.



























This was the original design for my cd. I liked the idea of having a simple design with the name of the band across the cd but I felt it looked a little boring so I changed it to have the band members on it instead.

Digipack - Inside

The inside of my digipack design. They're the full photos on the ones on the front cover showing all the band members. It's hard to tell but each photo gets lighter.

Digipack Front

Front cover for the album. This was inspired by The Beatles and Gorillas album covers by having all 4 members on the front cover. I changed the colours to fit with the band members.

Digipack - Back

Here's the final design of the back cover for my digipack. It has a simple design with a faded sepia tone and pale red letters for the names of the other songs.

I got the other songs from www.purevolume.com.

Problems whilst filming

We encounted many problems whilst filming for my video, the main one being that it was difficult to get everyone together in order to get this finished on time.

As Craig and Victoria go to different schools and work all weekend, it was hard for them to find time to come to arnold and film for me, luckily, they'd booked 2 weeks off work and during that time we were able to film.

Filming the band didn't go to plan either. I was originally going to film friends from school to mime the song for me but different time tables made it near impossible. Luckily, Sam said I could film his band whilst they practised, however, going out the night before and getting up early the next morning wasn't the best idea. We were slightly hungover and wanted to get this done quickly. I wasn't able to get them to mime my song so hopefully I can edit the shots I have to made it look like they are.

Filming Schedule

Friday - 25/02/11

11:00am - Meet up with Craig and Victoria and show them what kind of shots I need

11:30am - Start filming shots down at the park - Shots of them being happy together and when Victoria is acting off with Craig.

12:30am - Films the shots of Craig reminiscing about Victoria - photos etc - Then 'see's' her whilst out for a walk.

1:30pm - Practise shots of Craig sending messages to Victoria saying 'I miss you." We found out that using the laptop/facebook was more effective and easier to see. This also relates to teenagers communicating on the internet.

2:00pm - Film Victoria responding to Craigs 'I miss you' message. Close up on her expression and her deleting the message. Close up on the message itself (her p.o.v)

2:20pm - Final shooting of the day and my favourite scene in the video - A shot of Craig at home watching t.v when he hears the door knock, he goes to answer it and Victoria is standing there, showing her then switching back to Craig to show his expression then the video ends. This shot also allowed me to put my continuation skills to work.

12/03/11 - Saturday

2:00pm - Meet Victoria and Craig

2:10pm - Re-shoot the scene where Craig 'see's' Victoria as the previous shooting didn't flow correctly on a noticeable level.

2:40pm - Go to a different park to shoot more 'romance' scenes between the couple - again secretly filming them to make it seem more natural. Accidental shots were also filmed here. whilst on the round-a-bout, I didn't realise the camera was filming but decided to use the shots anyway.

3:00pm - Film them walking then have Victoria walk away - hopefully I'll be able to edit so it looks like she's faded away.

3:10pm - More shots of them together for the happy memories.
